Instead Cups (also known as the “Softcup”) is a disposable menstrual cup - an alternative form of feminine hygiene/sanitary protection. It is designed to be worn internally (in the same position as adiaphragm or cap) and collects rather than absorbs menstrual flow. It has over twice the capacity of a tampon and can be worn safely for up to 12 hours. It is NOT a contraceptive.

INSTEAD is approximately 7cm in diameter but, when squeezed for insertion, it is about the same size as a tampon. One size fits nearly all women.

Instead Cups can be worn safely for twice as long as a tampon, up to a maximum of 12 hours, does not cause dryness or irritation and is suitable for any level of flow (it can even be inserted before the period starts).

Instead Cups prevents odour because flow does not come into contact with air, is safe, comfortable and discreet and is easy to insert and remove.

Instead Cups has no associated risk of toxic shock syndrome, can be worn during any physical activity and allows clean, comfortable sex during a woman's period.

Some women have used Instead Cups, inserted immediately after intercourse, to assist conception.
